Head Project Management and Product Development

Visitravel is a global leader in the provision of consumer internet and distribution travel services. Visitravel is currently recruiting a Head of Projects and Product Development to join its Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Head of Project Management and Product Development will be responsible for managing all internal and external client facing Projects as well as taking full ownership of the Visitravel product development roadmap. The Head of Project Management and Product Development will assume executive ownership of all project inputs and project parties including internal resources, external project partners and be the key owner for delivering client solutions. Key Responsibilities include:

• Full ownership and Delivery Responsibility for all Internal and Client Facing Projects
• Managing multiple cross disciplinary Project Teams
• Full ownership of the 24 month Product Development Roadmap across the varying businesses
• Instilling PM practice throughout the organisation

Experience

• At least 8+ years experience in Project Management
• At least 5+ years of this in a senior Project Manager / Head of Project Management Role
• A primary degree in IT OR Business
• Relevant PM certification
• Current Experience in hands on Project and Product Planning is essential
• The successful candidate will be an expert project manager . The ideal candidate will have extensive Information Technology experience particularly within an enterprise web environment having a demonstrated track record in managing multiple projects within budget and on time
• Project experience in the following areas Web Development, Enterprise Level Backend Systems, 3rd party API integrations
• Experience in Online Travel or e-commerce environments an advantage

The Head of Project Management and Product Development needs to be a doer - a Project and Product Zealot with an incessant eye on delivery an excellence . The successful candidate will demonstrate the following Qualities

• Relentless in pursuing and setting project and product deadlines
• Hands-on technical leader, who can effectively drive technical ideas/ initiatives
• Ability to fully understand the business requirements and manage diverse set of team members under challenging and pressurized scenarios
• Strong people interaction and relationship building skills across multiple functions within the organization
• A proficient communicator externally with partners and large clients
